ShareUp Soton

Hey! Just so you know, this article is over 2 years old. Some of the information in it might be outdated, so take it with a grain of salt. I'm not saying it's not worth a read, but don't take everything in it as gospel. If you're curious about something, it never hurts to double-check with a more up-to-date source!

Introduction

#

The 1st ShareUp Soton event was a great success! We had a load of interesting ideas and discussions around content creation from creative individuals in the local area. There were attendees from painters, bloggers, designers and even game programmers! To kick off the start of the event Rareloop had put on a spread of food and refreshments, which was well received by all attendees. Once everyone had arrived and mingled with one another, we then moved on to a talk given by a website design student, and co-organiser of ShareUp, Jack Davies.

Presentation - You are all creators

#

The talk was centred around everybody's creativity, and how they've been creating content their whole lives, what options are available for them to continue creating content and growing as a creative and how to get started. Commitments

#

To wrap things up, all attendees were paired up with another content 'buddy'. Once paired, they made a commitment to creating content. The content could be a small or big goal, as long as it was achievable by the next event and it was something they were interested in. It is encouraged that creators task themselves with something that they have been neglecting or have never experimented with before, but are interested in learning.
