Gatsby & WordPress - 2.1. Getting Started with WordPress

by Jack Pritchard

Hey! Just so you know, this article is over 2 years old. Some of the information in it might be outdated, so take it with a grain of salt. I'm not saying it's not worth a read, but don't take everything in it as gospel. If you're curious about something, it never hurts to double-check with a more up-to-date source!

In this episode, we focus on setting up a local WordPress installation on our local machine. We do this using a free tool called Local by Flywheel which is supported by macOS and Windows.

By booting up a fresh WordPress install, we have the foundational system required for the rest of this course's chapter, where we will be installing specialist plugins and developing our own custom WordPress theme.
