Carnage

Hey! Just so you know, this article is over 2 years old. Some of the information in it might be outdated, so take it with a grain of salt. I'm not saying it's not worth a read, but don't take everything in it as gospel. If you're curious about something, it never hurts to double-check with a more up-to-date source!

About Carnage

#

Carnage is a new art piece, created in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. This piece of art was constructed using a stock photograph of a volcano that has been distorted beyond recognition. To create a liquid lava and eruption effect, I have used radial distortions and oil painting stylizing techniques. After finding the right balance between distortion and liquid clarity, I then applied gradient ramps and colour dodge layers above the image to pop out the colours. I believe I was going through a phase of anger when creating this art, hence the title and the choice of colours. Thank you for taking the time to view one of my pieces of art. I am in no way an expert but I find enjoyment in expressing myself through creating abstract pieces of art that sometimes show myself what emotions I feel in the subconscious side of myself. If you enjoyed this piece then you may enjoy some of my other gradient manipulations such as Illustration - Natural Clutch or Illustration - Eye Candy.
